A sailboat team called We Brake for Whales has won the Race to Alaska, a test of speed and endurance using only wind and human power from Port Townsend, Washington, to Ketchikan, Alaska. The 40-foot mono hull sailboat Gray Wolf, skippered by Jeanne Goussev of Port Townsend, and eight crew arrived in Ketchikan early Wednesday morning, finishing the 1,200-kilometre journey in five days, 18 hours and 59 minutes. The sailboat, which won in 2018 as part of the Sail Like a Girl team, is the first two-time winner of the Race to Alaska.
