The Tongass Historical Museum held a 'Museum Midday' event on May 4 that delved into the history of Ketchikan's Pioneers of Alaska Hall downtown, as well as the renovation and preservation projects planned for the building to coordinate with Historic Preservation Month. Michele Zerbetz Scott, treasurer of Pioneers of Alaska Women's Igloo #7, spoke at the event alongside Amanda Welsh, who said she holds the architect's seat on the Ketchikan Historic Commission. Welsh added that she works as an architect and historic architect locally.
