Jordan Joplin, 38, has been found guilty of first-degree and second-degree murder in the death of Dr. Eric Garcia, who was found deceased on March 27, 2017, in his Summit Terrace home in Ketchikan. The verdict of guilty on all counts was announced by an Anchorage Superior Court jury on Thursday morning. In addition to one count each of first-degree murder and second-degree murder, Joplin was found guilty of one count of first-degree theft. Joplin is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 5 in Anchorage Superior Court.
